To become a 'Regulated Safeguarding Officer', you must first complete/attend the 'Designated Safeguarding Officer' training course with an accredited training provider.

  • Health and social care organisations have their local policies and procedures regarding the appointment of 'Safeguarding Officers'. 
  • The minimum requirement to become a 'Safeguarding Officer' within the childcare, education and paediatric settings is the 'Designated Safeguarding Officer' training.
