Are your statutory and mandatory training courses suitable for self-employed people without previous experience of being health and social care support workers?

The Care Certificate was developed for new and inexperienced health and social care support workers. It helps to standardise their induction training, covering the core statutory and mandatory training subjects.

We recommend that those who are new to health and social care sectors should complete the Care Certificate, rather than other refresher mandatory training packages.

The Care Certificate

The Care Certificate is an agreed set of standards that define the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of specific job roles in the health and social care sectors. It is made up of the 15 minimum standards that should be covered if you are 'new to care' and should form part of a robust induction programme.

The Care Certificate was developed jointly by Skills for Care,  Health Education England and  Skills for Health
